How to Unlink Storenvy from Stripe

How I Un-linked Storenvy from Stripe

So I know a lot of people have been in an uproar over Storenvy pretty much forcing us to use their new payment method called Stripe. I know it put me into a full blown panic attack at least. I even emailed Storenvy for help and they didn't offer me any good information which led to me spending a little over 3 hours trying to figure out how the heck to opt out of this. Anyways, Recently I seen a lot of people struggling just like I was to not use this payment option and figured I would try my best in explaining what I did to make it so I would no longer receive orders through the Storenvy Marketplace. NOW I AM ONLY 95% SURE THIS ACTUALLY WORKS, I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE AN ORDER THROUGH MY MARKETPLACE SINCE I DID THIS AND MY SHOP NO LONGER SHOWS THE CREDIT CARD OPTION SO I'm ASSUMING THIS WORKS!

:::UPDATE::: AS POSTED AT BOTTOM OF TUTORIAL.... I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT CLOSING YOUR STRIPE ACCOUNT IF YOU HAVE ALREADY RECEIVED ORDERS THROUGH IT AND ARE STILL WAITING TO RECEIVE THE MONEY! BUT YOU SHOULD STILL BE ABLE TO UNLINK IT!

Step One:
1. Go to your Storenvy Dashboard and click on the Marketplace Tab

Step Two:
2. Make sure your Marketplace is set to "closed"

Step Three:
3. Go back to your Dashboard and click on the "Settings" Tab. Click on "Business Info"

Step Four:
4. Scroll down to where you see "Accepting Payments".
In the pic below it shows that I am no longer connected to Stripe and only linked to my Paypal. So this is now what it looks like. But Before I un-linked It showed my email and said I was connected to Stripe. If you are reading this tutorial then I'm assuming yours does say you are connected to stripe still.

Step Five:
5. Open a new window to Stripe and sign into your account....Go to the "Apps" Tab

Step Six:
6. Once you click on the "Apps" tab you should see that it says your Storenvy is linked to it. Simply un-link it by Clicking on the "X" AND then clicking on "Revoke Access" that is on the right side. Don't forget to click "Done" when finished.

Step Seven:
7. Go back to your Storenvy. Sign out and Sign back in. Now go back to your Dashboard and click on the "Settings" Tab. Click on "Business Info" Again. (like in step 3). Your "Accepting Payments" section should now look similar to mine. It should show that you are no longer connected and inform you that you are required to link up to Stripe in order to sell through your marketplace.

Now if anyone tries to go to your Marketplace store this is what will come up.

And when anyone goes to purchase anything from your storefront they can only use paypal!

I also went back to my Storenvy, went to each Product listing and made sure the "List in Marketplace" said Closed

And that's how I un-linked my Storenvy from Stripe!

Just to be sure I recommend you sign out of your Storenvy and then go to your shop and pretend to purchase something(as guest)...once you get to the payment part you should only see PayPal at the payment option. If the credit card option is still there then you are still connected to Stripe somehow.

BUT that's not it! For the extra added protection I went back to my Stripe and Closed out the account all together. You simply do this by going to the "data" tab in your account settings and selecting “Close my account.” Remember that closing your account won’t prevent transfers from happening, but you will not be able to retrieve any information about your account going forward. Once an account is closed it cannot be undone. You can, however, export the data in your account to a CSV file before you close it. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT DOING THIS STEP IF YOU HAVE ALREADY RECEIVED ORDERS THROUGH IT AND ARE STILL WAITING TO RECEIVE THE MONEY!

That's it guys! I hope this was helpful!
